Family Process

Step 1: Get to Know Each Other
No two families are the same! In order for these photos to truly capture your family’s character, first I need to learn a little bit more about your crew.
How many children do you have? How old are they? Are you including pets? How would you describe your family’s “vibe?” Where are you hoping to use these photos? You get the idea!

Step 2: Brainstorm + Plan
Then we’ll talk details - who, what, where, and when.
- Who will be included in the shoot, and how many different groupings of family members do you want to capture?
- What do you plan to wear? This can help us pick backdrop colors and locations if you already have your outfits planned.
- Where are we shooting - at my studio, in your home, or out in the community?
- When - let’s set a date!

Step 3: Capture Photos!
If possible, I usually set up my equipment ahead of time, so all you need to do is check the mirror one last time and hop in front of the camera!
Whether you’re super excited about this session or dread being in front of the camera, I promise to do my best to make it a good time. We’ll play music, chat, and just have fun.
I’ll also show you the back of the camera as we go, so I can make sure you’re loving it!
Step 4: I Edit, You Pick Your Favorites
Then it’s time for me to work my magic on my end. I’ll narrow down the photos and make minor touchups.
When they’re ready, I’ll post the images to my proofing website and send you a link so you can look at the pictures in the comfort of your own home.
You choose the images you want to keep. Then I’ll refine them one last time before sending you the final images!
